Officially unreleased KYRO II refresh. Some were sold re-labeled and underclocked as regular KYRO II
Rumored in January 2002 as "Kyro II Ultra", the Kyro II SE (STG4800) was announced in March 2002 with samples sent to reviewers in July the same year. This new chip was still based on the Kyro and Kyro II design, lacking T&L but allowing higher frequencies. Review samples were running at 200Mhz for core and memory. The release was ultimately cancelled but an unknown number of "3D Prophet 4800" found their way to customers. These cards were re-labeled, underclocked to 175MHz and sold as regular Kyro II "3D Prophet 4500". They have an STG4800 core (labeled "SE") and 4.7ns memory, both capable of frequencies at or above 200Mhz (3200MB/s, 400MPixel/s - MTexel/s.
